Na
mijn bezigheden als vrijwilliger bij Breda Photo (2018) heb ik de
fotografie opnieuw omarmd als bezigheid. Ooit, tijdens de middelbare school al, aangestoken door schoonheid van fotografie (en de snelheid: schilderen duurt eindeloos!).
Al die jaren daarna foto's makend, maar veelal alleen omwille van herinneringen aan plaatsen en mensen. Maar toch ook bij vlagen gewoon voor het mooi. Kunst maken.
Opnieuw omarmd dus, met ook - beter laat dan nooit,
of eigenlijk: 38 jaar later - een (korte) cursus (nov/dec-2108). En nog één, een
langere (jan/mei 2019). En nog één, een specifieke (architectuur, nov/dec-2019). En wie weet nog wel
meer, in de toekomende tijd. Bij die inspirerende docente, Luciana Caputo (www.lucianacaputo.com).
Werk
dat ik maak wil ik je graag laten zien. Ik heb uiteraard de intentie om
met dit werk rijk, beroemd en decadent te worden, maar mocht dat niet
lukken, tja, daar zal ik wel mee leren te leven. Hoop ik. 😀
Op de pagina's van dit blog heb ik werk gezet dat voor die cursussen is gemaakt. (Of soms daarvoor uit eigen archief is opgediept).
Why, making pictures?
After my activities as a volunteer during the International Breda Photo Festival (2018) I rediscovered photography as a pleasant activity. Once upon a time, during high school I was touched by the beauty of this artform (and the speed: painting takes forever!).
All those years after that time I made pictures. Mostly just making memories of people and places. By every now and then also just because I saw beauty. Making art.
Some 38 years later I rediscovered this art, and restarted with a short course (nov/dec-2018). And then a longer one (jan/may-2019). Then a specific one, on architecture (nov/dec-2019). And maybe more courses in the future, with that inspiring teacher Luciana Caputo (www.lucianacaputo.com).
For those courses I make pictures that I like to show you. Of course with the intention of becoming rich, famous and decadent. Should that fail, ah well, I'll learn to live with that. I hope. 😀
