Ik heb dat in drie delen gedaan. Deel 1: Vrijwilligerswerk. Iets dat in Nederland veel gebeurt.

Here are pictures from my first course (sep/nov-2018). The subject being "what do The Netherlands mean to you?"
I did it in 3 parts. First part is about volunteerwork, which is a big thing in this country. These pictures were made while working with our group, the Lumberjacks, in the Mastbos en the Markvalley in Breda

Voor het tweede deel van deze opdracht heb ik ook vrijwilligerswerk als thema gekozen. Hier gaat het om foto's van het opbouwen van, jawel, Breda Photo. Sfeerfoto's van de fabriekshal van Backer & Rueb, waar we stellingen en andere constructies in hebben gebouwd, waar later foto's aan werden gehangen.
Second part of the job is also about volunteerwork. These pictures show the former factory hall of Backer & Rueb, which had to be transformed into an exposition hall for the International Breda Photo Festival. The hall was interesting enough as it was, but we had to build lots of constructions to hang pictures on.
Als derde deel van de opdracht "Wat betekent Nederland voor jou?" heb ik gekozen om toegepaste kunst in beeld te brengen. Want daar is Nederland sterk in. Vormgeving, gebruik maken van wat er is, en daar nieuwe wegen in bewandelen.
Ik ben in Breda de Blind Walls Gallery (https://blindwalls.gallery/) langsgefietst en heb van verschillende werken een foto gemaakt. Een detailfoto, met in de meeste schilderwerken een apart detail, iets dat er nu eenmaal op de muur zat, maar niet in het beeld thuishoort. Of toch wel?
Third part: I choose to show some what is called "applied art". It is something the Dutch do: designing, shaping, forming. See what is there and change it into something new.
So I rode my bicyle along the Blind Walls Gallery (https://blindwalls.gallery/) in Breda en made pictures of details in those murals. Mostly containing an even smaller detail of something on such a wall that was on the wall but not supposed to be part of the painting. Or was it even so?
